WHY JOIN UNITED METHODIST
WOMEN?
Women join United Methodist Women to grow spiritually,
educationally and intellectually, to be stimulated, to
gain leadership experience, to meet other women and to be
involved in mission in a number of ways. These include participation
in:
- Spiritual growth studies and renewal
- Mission education
- Biblical and theological studies
- Women in Crisis progress
- Child advocacy
- Giving on behalf of persons in mission
- Human rights issues
- Combating racism
- Legislative affairs
- Reading Program
HOW DOES ONE BECOME A
MEMBER OF UNITED METHODIST WOMEN?
One becomes a member by expressing a desire to
belong and to participate in the global mission of
the church through United Methodist Women.
Membership can be expressed in one or more of the
following ways:
- Attendance at meetings
- Undesignated giving to support global mission
- Intercessory prayer
- Meaningful community involvement
- Participation in varied events, projects,
issues and concerns of the Women's Program
Division
- Accepting leadership responsibility
United Methodist Women is a community of women
who nurture and encourage one another in their
spiritual growth and development and work to meet
needs of women and children around the
world.

CONFERENCE ANNUAL MEETING
will be held at Methodist College in Fayetteville on Saturday,
October 15.
DISTRICT ANNUAL MEETING
will be held at Pine Valley UMC on Saturday, October 22. Registration will begin at 9:30 am. Plan to
stay through lunch.
