Jane Esdale – Short Biography

The Rev. Jane Esdale joined the staff of the Robeson County Church and Community Center as its executive director on December 27, 2005.

Jane was ordained an American Baptist minister in May 1985 at Lake Avenue Baptist Church in Rochester, New York following her graduation from Colgate Rochester Divinity School.

In 1984, during seminary, Jane founded and directed Cameron Community Ministries, an ecumenical urban mission project in Rochester where she served until December 1995.

Following her move to Charlotte, she worked at Crisis Assistance Ministry, Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina and the Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America. Her ministry has been focused on economic justice for people who live in poverty.

Jane and her husband, William Brown, have fallen in love with Lumberton and everyone they have met. She and her husband and their two cats live on Chestnut Street in Lumberton.
