Beginner’s Luck:
A First Timer’s Look at General Conference

So it ended. It ended a very positive note. After the whole confrontation with talk of the church splitting, a resolution was brought forth as I had said before. So from then on out, the outlook of the United Methodist Church was much brighter than earlier in the week.
Oh yeah, on another note. I was recognized by the chair on Friday when I held up my yellow card, and he said "Yes ma'am, you in the pink." ...... Needless to say, it was humorous to those around me, and the laughing stock of the youth for the rest of the trip. I had a few words to say to the presiding Bishop followed by a throw down of my hat. Yeah....
The closing worship service was wonderful. Even though it was 11:45 when it started on Friday night, I still found it to be my favorite. It was kind of depressing though. I mean, as grueling as some of the work was during the two weeks, I thoroughly enjoyed it and found it sad to think that I would never probably be in the convention center again, and definitely never with the same people. But it's just a short four years until the next one. I'll seeya in Fort Worth.

                                      Whole Again,
                                      Ben Adams
