MERCI Mission Center in great need
The MERCI Mission Center, the hub of mission support located in Goldsboro, has a great need for operational funding. It is through this mission center that the NC Conference has reached across the world and touched the lives of tens of thousands, transformed the reality of so many individuals in the U.S. and N.C. Edenton Street UMC has given a gift of $10,000 to the MERCI Mission Center and has raised a challenge to all churches in the NC Conference to give a gift of $2.50 per member toward the remarkable ministry at MERCI. The life of the MERCI Mission Center depends response across the conference. Gary Locklear is a General Board of Global Ministry Missioner serving in the Conference. Gary is serving in the second most diverse rural county in the U.S. and the third most impoverished of its size – Robeson County. TRAINING
Volunteers in Mission & Early Responder Training at MERCI Mission Center
Join United Methodist Volunteers In Mission, NC Conference on Nov. 16 - 17 at The MERCI Center in Goldsboro for sessions of learning, sharing, fellowship to enhance skills as team leaders and early responders. Basic and Advanced UMVIM, NC Team Leader Training classes begin at 7 pm on Friday night and conclude by noon on Saturday. There are no fees for this class or materials. Training is sponsored by UMVIM, NC Conference. Early Response Training classes begin at 7 pm on Friday evening and conclude approximately 3 pm on Saturday afternoon. The cost of the session is $30 and includes training, badge and T-shirt. For those staying overnight at the MERCI Mission Center, there is a $20 lodging fee.
