Pilgrimage updates: registration by Oct. 22, 8X10 prints requested
The registration deadline for Pilgrimage for youth groups is Oct. 22. The event will take place on Nov. 9-11 at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville . The registration form is in the 2007 Pilgrimage brochure or on the "Events" page at Youth Ministry . Confirmation materials for registrations received will begin going out in mid-October.
The theme this year is "If We are the Body." For stage visuals, 8X10 or larger photographs of youth groups are being requested by Friday, Nov. 2. Only printed photographs will be accepted. No e-mail files please. The photos cannot be returned. Mail the prints to Youth Ministry, PO Box 10955 , Raleigh , NC 27605 .
Safe Sanctuaries regional workshop on Oct. 28
The final regional workshop for safe sanctuaries giving assistance primarily to smaller churches will be Sunday, Oct. 28 at Helena UMC in Timberlake in the Durham District from 3-5 pm. Advance registration is not required. Further resources with regard to safe sanctuaries may be found on the website at Safe Sanctuaries .
Assistance for observing anniversary of birth of Charles Wesley
The 300th anniversary of the birth of Charles Wesley is December 18. The General Board of Discipleship has compiled resources that can be used in observance of the occasion. There is information available to assist in a full year of celebration:

Event for children's ministry leaders in local churches
The Conference Children's Ministry Team will host a workshop/resource event for local church leaders in areas of children's ministry in 2008 at two locations in the Conference. The workshop/resource event will include specific topics for smaller churches. The dates and host locations are Saturday, April 19 at Salem UMC in Simpson (Greenville District) and Saturday, Aug. 23 at Page Memorial UMC in Aberdeen . Further information will be forthcoming with regard to times and content for the resource event.
