Land ~ Bread ~ Body: Taken Blessed, Broken, Given – a journey of faith
“Land ~ Bread ~ Body: Taken, Blessed, Broken Given” — A two day gathering, hosted by Cedar Grove United Methodist Church and Anathoth Community Garden, Oct. 5-6 in Cedar Grove, will explore the Christian practices of eating, growing, and sharing food. Heritage Preservation Workshop at Lake Junaluska Oct. 5-7
The SEJ Commission on Archives and History is providing a set of workshops for those interested in the learning more about preserving records and local church history.
This will include practical and informative workshops on such topics as records management and preserving artifacts and papers. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Robert Williams, General Secretary of the GCAH. Travel and housing will be the responsibility of the workshop participants. Spiritual Formation in Youth Ministry Workshop
A workshop for adult leaders in local church youth ministry with the focus on spiritual formation in youth ministry will be offered at Englewood UMC in Rocky Mount on Sunday, Oct. 7 from 3-5pm. Respond to Rev. Laura Dunlap at Englewood UMC ( ldunlap@nccumc.org ) with plans to attend.
The next offering of the Spiritual Formation in Youth Ministry Workshop will be the Sanford District on Dec. 9 and the Goldsboro District on Jan. 20.

Living in covenant with Christ and One Another is event theme
“The Methodist Way: Living in Covenant with Christ and One Another” is the theme for a day apart open to anyone on Nov. 1 at Daniels UMC in Goldsboro. Registration deadline is Oct 25.
Leading the event will be Mary Jane Pierce Norton, from the General Board of Discipleship. Sponsoring the event is the NC Conference Chapter of Christian Educators Fellowship.

Pilgrimage in Fayetteville, registration by Oct. 22
Pilgrimage for UMC youth groups will be Nov. 9-11 at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville. The registration deadline for groups is Oct. 22. The registration form may be found in the 2007 Pilgrimage brochure, mailed twice to pastors and local church youth coordinators. The brochure is available on the “Events” page at Youth Ministry . Confirmation of received registrations will begin going out in mid-October.
The theme this year is “If We are the Body.” An 8X10 or larger photograph of youth groups is needed for stage visuals. The photograph should be sent to Youth Ministry, PO Box 10955, Raleigh, NC 27605 by Friday, Nov. 2. Only photograph prints can be used and none will be accepted by e-mail. Photographs cannot be returned.
Great Pumpkin Run/Walk to support Disciple Bible Outreach Ministries
On Oct. 27, the inaugural Great Pumpkin 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk for Disciple Bible Outreach Ministries will be held in Jamestown, beginning at Jamestown UMC, 403 E. Main Street, Jamestown, NC 27282. The 5K Run will begin at 10 am with the Walk to follow at 10:10 am.
Registration is $15, and forms can be obtained from the DBOM website at Disciple Bible , at the Jamestown UMC office, the Ragsdale YMCA or by calling the DBOM office at 336-434-8612.

The Church and Community Center, serving the 2 nd most diverse rural county in the U.S. and the 3 rd most impoverished of its size, desperately needs your support.
