Spiritual Formation in Youth Ministry Workshops
Workshops for adults working in youth ministries of local churches to focus on spiritual formation in youth ministry are being offered in various districts throughout the Conference as follows:
Raleigh District: Saturday, Aug. 18 from 10 am to 12pm at Soapstone UMC; Elizabeth City District: Sunday, Aug.19 from 4-6pm at Mt Olivet UMC in Manteo; Fayetteville District: Saturday, Aug. 25 from 10 am to 12 pm at Hay St UMC; and Rocky Mount District: Sunday, Oct. 7 from 3-5 pm at Englewood UMC
Pre-registration to attend is not required although the District Youth Coordinator would like to know whom to expect (a list of District Youth Coordinators and contact information is available on the "District" page of the Conference Youth Ministry website: www.nccumc.org/youthministry ). There is no cost to attend a workshop.
Church Construction Project Manager -- immediate job opening
The Board of Missions, Inc. has an opening for a Church Construction Project Manager to supervise church building projects, including subcontracted operations. Solid speaking, writing, and computer skills needed. Must have, or be willing and able to acquire an NC General Contractor's License. Applications must be received by Sept. 14. The Bishop's Day Apart for clergy will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at Nashville UMC (209 East Washington St., Nashville). Refreshments available at 9:30 am. Program begins at 10 am.

Mission Team to La Esperanza Sheltered Workshop in Santiago, Chile
Slots available for a "journey inward - journey outward" with missionary, Rev. Shana Harrison, November 12 - 21. Estimated cost is $1075 for airfare, $100 for a one-time entry fee for Chile, and in-country cost will be approximately $500 (may be some slight changes.) $500 deposit is due by Aug. 30, made payable to NC Conference UMC - Chile Trip. Each day will begin with communion and centering prayer. Mornings will be with the participants of the workshop. The afternoons will be filled with bible study, biblical animation, and visits to historical and contemporary sites where we might engage in considerations of justice.
