Clergy making appointment changes
Clergy changing Internet Service Providers should go into their conference clergy e-mail account and have messages to the account forwarded to the new e-mail address. If there are questions or the ID and Password cannot be located, write Linda Smith at lsmith@nccumc.org or call 1-800-849-4433.
Clergy with new addresses should update the directory information on the On-line Data Collecting System or send the information to smedlin@nccumc.org . Without making the needed changes, incorrect information will be in the 2007-2008 Conference Directory.
Put college students in touch with United Methodist campus ministries
Many students will be headed off to colleges and universities over the next month. Please make these young adults aware of our United Methodist campus ministry to college students through Wesley Foundations/Fellowships and Christian Cooperative Ministries. Better yet, send the names of students headed to that particular school to the United Methodist campus minister there. For a listing of UM Campus Ministries in North Carolina is available on the "young adult," top right of the website for youth and young adult ministries: Youth Ministry .

Golden Cross Reaches Out to Our Neighbors
Medical bills can absolutely devastate the financial and emotional health of a family. At a time when so many of our neighbors lack adequate medical coverage, Golden Cross reaches out to laity in our Conference who have no where else to turn. Golden Cross Sunday will be August 5. Please ensure that you offer the opportunity for folks to give to this very important ministry. Simply make a gift to Golden Cross, Advance #S-00153. 100% of your gift will go to someone in the midst of deep crisis and you will, as Paul states, bear the burden of another and so fulfill the law of Christ.

To schedule Herbert and Mary, please contact the Rev. Bill Haddock at revbillh@nccumc.org .
Nothing But Nets
Malaria kills. Every 30 seconds a child dies from malaria, more than a million children a year. Yet, we can act to change this nightmare. For only $10, you can engage in one of the most effective preventive measures for malaria, you can purchase a mosquito net. Nothing But Nets is our UM outreach effort to change this reality. By answering Jesus' call to "minister to the least of these who are members of our family," we can beat this disease and save future generations. You can donate by placing a gift in your Sunday offering and noting on the check: Nothing But Nets - Advance #982015. 100% of your donation will go toward this gift of nets. You can also donate on-line and find out much more information, including downloadable resources at: Nothing But Nets
US: Texas Faces Flood Recovery
Flood buckets are en route from UMCOR Sager Brown, the relief supply depot, to North and Central Texas annual conference workers who are surveying flood damage in their communities. Hundreds of people were stranded on their rooftops as water rose after overnight rains swamped towns. One of the two United Methodist churches in Gainesville is serving as a shelter. UMCOR is in close contact with responders as the recovery unfolds. You can help with gifts to UMCOR Advance #901670, Domestic Disaster Response. For more information and to offer a gift?
