    ACS Registration Deadline
    The registration deadline (applies to postmark date) for Annual Conference Session for Youth is July 1.  ACS will be July 23-28 at Methodist University in Fayetteville.  Youth must have completed grades 9, 10, 11 or 12 to attend.  At ACS the youth will elect and select their leadership for the Conference level and from each district for the coming year.  The cost is $200 and the deposit required with registration is $25.  The registration form is available in the 2007 Youth Events brochure which is available for download from the website:  www.nccumc.org/youthministry .

    Data Collection System off-line
    The On-line Data Collection System will be off-line for annual maintenance from July 2 through July 15, 2007.  Changes in appointment records and charge conference forms will be made at that time.  If address or phone number changes are needed during that time, please email your changes to helpdesk@nccumc.org .

    Bethea Welcome Center to open July 9
    The new Bethea Welcome Center at Lake Junaluska will be consecrated on Monday, July 9, 11:30 am, beginning with the service at the Nancy Weldon Gym . A ribbon cutting will be heldat the door to the Center, following the service. The building is named in honor of the late Bishop Joseph Bethea and his wife, Shirley Bethea.  Bishop Bethea was a member of the NC Conference when elected bishop.

    Golden Cross Date is August 5
    The North Carolina Annual Conference changed the observance of Golden Cross Sunday with an offering to the first Sunday in August.  The date for 2007 is August 5.  The number of lay persons with large medical bills without a way to pay for them is impacted by the support from the Golden Cross Sunday.  If you have any questions or need more information, call Richard Vaughan at (910) 754-4840 or Caroline Thornton at 1-800-849-4433. 

    Treasurer's Office has two openings
    The Conference Treasurer's Office is seeking a full-time Controller for its Raleigh office.  The position will be responsible for the general operation of the Treasurer's Office and financial reporting activities.  CPA or CPA candidate required.  Salary will be commensurate with experience.  Email resume to helpdesk@nccumc.org for consideration.  Full job description is available at www.nccumc.org/employmt.htm .  Posting open through July 9, 2007.
