Watch for television advertising
United Methodist television advertising began nationally on cable stations on Monday, August 28. In addition, similar advertisements will appear on broadcast television programs, mainly news, in the NC Conference and some radio stations the weeks of September 3-9 and 17-23. Award of Excellence in Youth Ministry
The deadline for applications from local churches for the award of excellence in youth ministry is August 31. The application is available at the website: www.nccumc.org/youthministry . The award will be presented to the recipient group at Pilgrimage on Saturday morning, November 11.

Christian Educators -- a great training opportunity
The National Meeting of Christian Educators Fellowship (CEF), The United Methodist Church, happens once every two years. This year, the conference with the theme "Loving the Sojourner Through Teaching and Learning," will be held in North Carolina October 5-9 . Lake Junaluska will be the meeting place for this gathering of Christian Educators. Bible study, worship time, workshops and networking will all take place.
