    Camp Chestnut Ridge seeks additional staff
    Camp Chestnut Ridge needs your help to recruit additional staff for this summer. Potential staff should be 16 or older and available the majority of the summer. The camp is 15 minutes west of Chapel Hill. Needed staff will canoe, ride mountain bike, pray, teach, make pottery, worship, climb mountains, and swing from trees.     All are invited to Chestnut Ridge Open House on April 30
    An Open House will be held at Camp Chestnut Ridge, 1-5 pm, on April 30. The invitation is open to everyone to attend and enjoy hot dogs, hayrides, canoeing, pony rides and the new zip line. There is no charge for the event; donations are always welcome.

    Summer Camps Brochures and DVD
    Summer camp packages containing brochures and a DVD, were mailed to all pastors or designees in January. Some of the packages were damaged in shipment and were returned. Those have been shipped again. There may be others that did not arrive and were not returned. If you or your camp and retreat coordinator have not received your summer camp package, please notify Wray Stephens, wray@ncumcamps.org or (919) 552-4673.

    Sensitivity Training sessions scheduled for pastors and lay leaders, staff parish members.
    The Conference Monitoring & Accountability committee and the Cabinet are sponsoring Sensitivity Training for all pastors, lay leaders, and members of staff parish relations committees. These sessions will be led by Erin Hawkins and Jim Taylor of the General Commission on Religion and Race. Districts will be clustered for one of three scheduled meetings as follows: Burlington, Durham, Raleigh, and Sanford districts will meet May 6 at Garner UMC in Garner; Elizabeth City, Greenville, New Bern, and Rocky Mount districts will meet May 20 at St. James UMC in Greenville; and Fayetteville, Goldsboro, Rockingham, and Wilmington districts will meet August 19 at Chestnut Street UMC in Lumberton. Each session will begin at 10am and conclude around 3pm. Please place this training on your calendar. For more information, contact your district office.

    N.C. Five Day Academy for Spiritual Formation
    A fifth Five-Day Academy will be offered at the Trinity Center in Salter Path beginning Sunday, October 1, and ending Friday October 6. The cost is $650.00.     Colleague Forum for Pastors
    Colleague Forum for Pastors is now accepting applications for Colleague Forum #3. The Forum is a two-year experience of spiritual formation, focusing on worship, study, and spiritual community. Forum #3 runs July 2006 through May of 2008, meeting once a quarter --- three days and nights at beautiful Avila Retreat Center in Durham, for a total of eight sessions.
