Six district changes and the connectional ministries director
North Carolina Conference Bishop Alfred Wesley Gwinn, Jr. has announced seven cabinet level appointments. These appointments, and others to be announced later at Annual Conference (June 11-14), are effective July 1.
? Elizabeth City District - Carl Frazier, currently at Saint Luke in Sanford, will be appointed the Elizabeth City District Superintendent. The appointment for Won Namkoong, currently the Elizabeth City District Superintendent on Formation Leave, will be announced later.
? Fayetteville District - Sam Wynn, currently at Hollands in Wake County, will be appointed the Fayetteville District Superintendent. Information on Carol Goehring, the current superintendent, is listed later.
? Raleigh District - Tim Russell will move from the Wilmington District to be appointed the Raleigh District Superintendent. Ned Hill, the current superintendent, will receive another appointment which will be announced later.
? Rocky Mount District - Mack McMillan, currently at Saint Luke in Laurinburg, will be appointed the Rocky Mount District Superintendent. Bill Simpson, the current Rocky Mount District Superintendent, will be retiring.
? Sanford District - Steve Compton, currently the Conference Director of Congregational Development, will be appointed the Sanford District Superintendent. Milton Gilbert, the current superintendent, will be retiring.
? Wilmington District - Powell Osteen, currently at Garber in New Bern, will be appointed as the Wilmington District Superintendent.
? Connectional Ministries - Carol Goehring, currently the Fayetteville District Superintendent, will be appointed the Conference Executive Director of Connectional Ministries. Charles M. Smith, the current director, will be retiring.
